B. Ed. Or Bachelor of education is a postgraduate course for people interested in pursuing the career as a teacher.

Duration of course

B. Ed. is a two-year full-time course and can be extended not more than five years in the case of distance education.

Qualification

The minimum qualification for this course is graduation with at least 50% marks from any recognized university. (45% in case of SC/ST/OBC)

Age limit
The candidate should not be more than 26 years for boys in case of General category, 28 years for girls in case of General category and 29 years in the case of SC/ST candidates.

Fee structure

Fee structure varies from 25000 INR for subsidized seats and 35000 INR for non-subsidized seats.

Admission and selection process

Like other states, Himachal Pradesh also has entrance test for B. Ed. The admission is done based on merit that student has acquired during the counseling.

Expected dates of start of the new session are from September every year.

Application start date

Generally, form starts to fill from the third week of April for almost all the institutes.

Date of downloading admit cards

Candidates must visit the official website for applying and http://www.hpuniv.indownloading of admit cards. The University also sends the admit card on your address mentioned in the application form.

Date of examination

Date of examination is declared in the brochure of the University you are applying for but generally ranges from June till the end of July every year.

Declaration of result

Results are generally declared within one month of the admission test (June to August).
