Common
Law Admission Test (CLAT)
Applicants applying for LLB admission to law
colleges in Jharkand are required to give a Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) in
order to be eligible for admission to the undergraduate and postgraduate degree
programmes of 16 National Law Universities and is conducted on rotation by 16
National Law Universities. The applicant
should take care to ensure that the qualifying examination for seeking
admission to LLB, Part-1 must be recognized by the Bar Council of India, New
Delhi and/or also by Vinoba Bhava University, Hazaribag.
Note that not all colleges consider CLAT scores of
applicants, but government colleges do require CLAT scores for admission. There
are some private colleges who admit applicants based on other admission tests,
including LSAT among others instead of CLAT.
LLB
Admission Educational Qualification
The applicant seeking LLB admission
for a 3 years course duration is required to possess a bachelor’s degree and
for a 5-year course, applicants must have successfully cleared a 10+2 level
from a recognized board of education with a minimum of 45%-55% and this may vary
from institute to institute based on the reservations or their private holding. Also, government colleges will have reservations
under various categories for the under privileged, information of which can be
obtained directly from the college from where the applicant is interested to
study.
LLB
Admission Age Limit
The applicant
seeking admission to LLB admission should not exceed 20 years for the five-year
LLB Course and aplicants should not exceed 30 years for the three-year LLB
Course.

Applicants, after
passing the CLAT or other Common Entrance Test can apply to the college of
their choice and subject to the procedures of the college where the applicant
is applying, by filling up the application forms, submitting education
certificates and fees for the course.
