The M.Phil. program is a two-year program, which is designed for those
who would like to acquire a certain level of analytical and applied skills but
may not be keen on pursuing a Ph.D. degree. If you are looking for M.Phil then

Eligibility criteria:
To pursue M.Phil. one needs to have a Master's degree in science, arts
or engineering. The candidates need to acquire at least 55% marks in the subject
chosen for M.Phil. Course or an allied subject at the postgraduate level to be
considered eligible for the course. A written test may be conducted to assess
the knowledge of the candidates. The candidates who qualify in the written test will be required to appear in
an interview. The admission procedure and mode of selection for admission into
Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) through the distance learning, however, may vary from one Institute to another. Some of the Institutes have specified added
eligibility criteria for admitting candidates into their learning M.Phil.

Course Structure and Duration:
M.Phil. students are required to take eight courses (four compulsory
and the remaining four optional), which they must complete in the first year.
Ph.D. students are required to take fourteen courses (four compulsory and ten

all M.Phil. students are required to take the course on research methodology
and the course on Seminar Series.
Fee details
M.Phil. students in Jharkhand need to pay a tuition fee of 12,000/- per
semester and a hostel fee, which is 8% of the
fellowship amount per month, and more water and electricity charges as per
actual. The tuition fee may be revised from time to time.
